Thursday December 24th!

안녕하서요!! What is up?! It is Xmas Eve here in Korea!! :D I think a lot has happened since Thursday!!! Friday, I had tutor like always!! But afterwards, Ana and I were hanging out watching tv when Ama and Apa came in. They said they got a phone call from the counselor. That's when I was like OH NO! What now?? But then they talked to me and said I was moving to another family this Sunday! :o 2 Days away!! I was shocked, excited, sad, and nervous all at the same time! That's exactly what I felt like before I came to Korea. I was really sad, though, that I was leaving Ana :( She will always be my sister!!
Saturday, I had another half day of school. It was pretty boring. School is school, but afterwards Ana and I went to Nampodong!! We had to finish our Christmas shopping! (Finally!) Then, we met up with Ama and Apa for dinner. We had pizza at our favorite place. MR. PIZZA!! Gosh, I wish America had Mr. Pizza!! So good!! Anyways, after that we just walked a little around Nampodong. They were having Xmas Singing Contest in the center of Nampodong. Our Apa had a couple of kids sing in it so we got to meet them. They seemed really nice. :) Afterwards, we had Japenese skiskabobs! The best I've had. The meat is really good and they put really great sides to go with it!! The sad part of the night was when my Ama started crying, because I said this was the last dinner we were going to have with each other as one family. It showed, though, how much I was apart of their family then.
Sunday, was the day I was moving. I got up at 8:30 am and started packing my stuff. Six hours later I was finally done! :o When I came here, I had 2 suitcases and my backpack. Plus also, my purse. When I left my first home I had 3 suitcases, 1 extra bag, backpack, and also my purse!! :o 7 bags!! How am I going to fit all that stuff into 2 suitcases and a carry on for America!! Anyways, we headed towards Namcheon (new home) about 4 o clock. I met my new family. They are really nice!! There's a mom and 2 daughters. One is 13 and they other is my age. I've been getting along with them really well!
Monday, was the first day I went to school from my new home. It's so much further away then where I first lived. I have to now leave at 6:45 am!! :o Before I had to leave about an hour later!! But this Wednesday was my last day for school until Winter break, so I told myself only 2 more days! School was normal. After school, we went to the Christmas in Busan Festival!! It was really fun! We went with Lea. First, we had the korean dinner they served us. It was alright. Then, the festival is where you walk around the college. You follow the Xmas lights like a path! We took a lot of picutres! It made Ana and I really pumped up for Xmas, even though we really weren't doing anything.
Wednesday, was the last day of school!! :D YES!! well, we go back to school the second week of February. We go to school that whole week, then we have our Spring Break for the next 2 weeks. So technically, we don't really go back to school till March!! :) Anyways, on wednesday all we did was clean out our lockers and desks, sat around a little bit, my teacher talked to the class, and finally the closing talk in the gym. After that we went to the new LOTTE mall thats in Nampodong!! It was huge!! We saw there a Charlie Brown anniversary thing! It was so cute!! After that, Jarrett invited Ana and I to go to his High school. His school was having a talent show thing. It was an all boys school. When Ana and I walked in, you'd think some alien walked in on them! Every single boy was staring at us!! :o We were a little nervous! hahaha. But I am never sending my kids to an all boys or all girls school. At one point in the show, a group of girls were dancing. The boys went nuts. I personally thought it was kind of pathethic, but that was just my opinon. Afterwards, we went to Jarrett's house to hang out just for a little bit. That was basically what happened since I talked last. Today, Jarrett, UNyoung, Lea, and Ana are coming over to hang out for Xmas eve. Probably going to eat pizza! Hhahaha. AGAIN!! ;) but I'll TTYL!!

Wednesday December 16th

HI guys! Right now, I am in school! Yay! Hahaha!! Not really. :) Last Friday, Hanna's ama decided to invite the kids to see a musicial performance after our tutor! It was really great! It was the Korean movie version of Mammia Mia! I never saw the english version either, but it was so funny and it was really good. The only issue I had was that the main character had the worst voice out of everyone! :o You would think they could put the best singer, but I don't think that matters to them. Anyways, I saw a lot of my friends from school there, since it involved acting and singing. It was good to see them outside of school and introduce them to my foreign friends.
The next day, we had orientation :( It was so boring like all the rest! But afterwards, we met up with Jarrett's friends from his school. :) They were so nice!! I think I scared them though! I yelled at them 사랑해!! (I love you!) and hugged them! embarrassing... :D Then, the counselor called us saying we needed to be home by 10 pm, but we already bought our tickets :$ oh well...
Sunday, was really fun! Ana and I met up with Daphne to go to my first animae convention! There were so many people in costumes and I bought I lot of cute pins and keychains there! It was so much fun!! Afterwards, we decided to go home really early.
Tuesday, we had tutor, but instead I talked with my counselor Miss Ahn. It was so boring talking to her. I can't trust her. You don't know if she is telling the truth or stretching it. It's so frustrating, just having a conversation with her!!
Today, was a good day in school. I forgot my acting clothes, but in class we only played a game. It was where there's two "bad" guys who wink at the good guys. If you get winked at, you die. I got to be "bad!" I was the winner!! I was so pro. LOLZ! The other classes I got to help out with the English teacher. So we danced the Cha Cha slide all day. Great day! TTYL

Thursday December 10th

Hi everyone!! This past week was really fun!! Friday was the first day of our week long break from school!! The kids had finals, so we could stay home! :D Friday, we went to the tutor as usual. Afterwards, though, we went to see New Moon (finally!) I was dying to see it after you guys had it out for 2 weeks already!! I love those movies so much!! The only bad thing about it was that I sat next to Jarrett and he complained the whole time how I was drooling over the guys. I was like, why did you come?? We all were like that!!
Saturday was so much fun!! It was probably my favorite day of the week!! First, we met up with our friend/teacher Alex. He teaches English at our school. He is from Texas. We went with him, his friend Nana, and a couple of his Korean friends. We ending up going to a basketball game. I was so excitied!! :D I love watching live basketball! There was actually a guy from UW-Madison playing for Busan!! <3 He was of course, my favorite!! Afterwards, we went to Chicken and Beer restaurant. It was so delicious!! It was nice getting to know Alex and his friends more! We got invited to meet his family in January when they come from Mexico. I'm a little nervous!!

After the dinner, we went to Daphne's going away party! She's not going back to Canada, she's moving in with her new family. She was really sad. She loves Japenese Food now. (she was living with a Japanese family) They had amazing food!! :o I was a little jealous, because she got to live with that!! Her family was sooo cute!! Especially the little sister, but I don't know if I could live with a little sister. I think sometimes, I would go nuts!! :) It was a great day that day!

The next day, Jarrett invited us to go moutain climbing. I was getting really excited. The only problem with that day was that it was really cold!! I looked so horrible, but nobody really cared how they looked!! It was early, and cold! :D LOLZ. We first went to the Buddist temple, then started hiking. It was easier than I thought. We then, stopped at a place called Jangsan Village. There was a bunch of cute puppies!! My favorite is the picture down below! <3 I named him Charlie!! Then, we had noodle soup for lunch. While we were eating, Ana and I realized we totally forgot to call AMa and Apa and ask about going out! :o They were out the night before and didn't come home so we mistakenly forgot! We felt so bad!! Anyways, afterwards we went down the mountain and went to Hanna's home. We met her mother and hung out in her room for a while. Then, we got in a taxi and headed towards Home Plus. LOVE THAT PLACE! They have micorwave popcorn!! Ana and I could never find it!!


Wednesday was our last no school day! :( But we didn't waste it. We went to Nampodong!! :D Daphne, Lea, Ana, and me finally saw the movie NINJA ASSAJIN!! Amazing! There was so much blood and the singer Rain played as the main character! Gorgeous!! I really recommend the movie!! Then, we went shopping. I just started my shopping for secret santa. The Rotary Kids decided to do it! I'm really excited. So I just started making a list of what I WANT to buy. I came up with 13!! :o Hopefully, I'll be able to buy all of them by the time I leave!! Today, was a pretty good day. The girls gave me a Korean makeover!! haha. It was funny! The only bad part of the day was when I got a stomachache, I went to the nurse, to lay down and the door was locked! :P That helped! But tomorrow, we're planning on going to a musical!! CAn't wait and this weekend is going to be booked with stuff! :) TTYL!!

Thursday December 3rd

Hey everyone! Hows it going?? The last time I wrote was Thanksgiving. That night, I called up a few of the Rotary kids and went out to dinner for thanksgiving. It made me really homesick though, because all we had was pizza. At least it was really great pizza :D That Saturday, the Rotary kids hung out at the Haundae mall. It's called Spuntz. We were planning on seeing a movie there, but when the lady asked us if we were students we said yes. She said oh are you college and the other kids were no were high school!! I was like what are doing?? it was a rated R film!! Then she's like oh you guys can't see it! Then the kids were confused and I was like wow, I clap for you guys! Great performance! :) We ate at Burger King afterwards. God, I've missed that place! Afterwards, we went shopping for a little bit. I wasn't really in the mood for shopping. Then, the kids wanted to go to the NINJA ASSAJIN movie, but it was already 6 pm. We live farther away then the other kids with the strictest family, so we went to a PC room. Sunday was the best!! First, we went to church. We haven't gone in a while so it felt good to see our friends from there. After that, we called a few friends from Rotary and school to hang out. It was the first time we hung out with the Rotary friends and school friends at once. :) It was fun! We went to the community spa! I love it there!! Now to set it straight. When we go nude, boys and girls are seperated!! (MOM!!) hahaha. Afterwards, we went to PIZZA BINGO. They have large pizzas for 5 bucks! Favorite place! Then, we went to the karokee! My friends from school (Grace and Bear) are amazing singers! i was so shocked!! :o Monday, I got a card from my sister Amanda. She sent a birthday card, a letter, pictures of my nephew Owen, and a drawing Owen drew for Thanksgiving. It brought tears to my eyes reading it! I miss them so much! Tuesday, was the tutor. Everything went normal. Afterwards, we went to Mr. Pizza. GREAT! Wednesday, was great! After school, ama and apa took us to Nampodong! <3 We ate at a really great pizza/pasta place. The ironic thing about it I ate a steak :) But its not as good as American steaks. Then, we went to a Japenese restaraunt for shiskabobs (spelling?) They were amazing!! (drooling) Then, they took us to get ice cream at McDonalds! Food Baby!! (inside joke with the Rotary kids!) I slept so good that night with that much food in me! When we got home, Mr. Jang (chairman) came by. I thought he would tell us our new families but no he just came by to talk. :( I got so excited!! Ama and Apa promised us they would take us to a theme park before we both move out!! :D I can't wait for that! I LOVE rollocoaters!! Today, is a slow day. But I don't have to go to school for a whole week, because the school is taking finals!! :D yay!! Monday, apa arranged a Busan tour for us while we're on our school break! YES!! Thursday November 26th

Hey people! Gosh I'm sorry the past two weeks have been insane!! I'll just highlight the major stuff that happened to get you guys caught up. The last time I talked to you was BAe Bae do DAy the 11th. The next big day was Friday the 13th. Hahahaha. Scary!! :D Anyways, that day ana and my class both were practicing for their acting performance. That day they were performing for a few teachers and the principals. We also got invited to watch!! :) We got to see our friends actually act, for real, for the first time. They were so good too! Even though I couldn't understand all if it, I thought it was a great play. Afterwards, we got to go to the tutor. The tutor was normal, but afterwards all the kids had to go to a Rotary dinner. I actually got to wear my blazer for the first time! :o If anyone wants to send me pins, that would be appreciated!! The food there was so good. The meeting it self was kind of boring, but it was worth it meeting all the Rotary people who help us through the year. The next day, all the Rotary kids celebrated my birthday. :D My real birthday was on Monday but we didn't want to spend time on Monday after school. First, they took me to Nampodong for pizza. (at my fav pizza place) Then we went to see the movie 2012! So good!! Then, we went to karokee. <3! They bought me a cake and presents too. It was such a great day! The next morning Ama and Apa took Ana and I out to a steak place for lunch. It was such great food (drool!) They also bought wine for the special occasion and also another cake! :D I felt very blessed! Then ana and I called up lea and unyoung to hang out once again in Nampodong for my birthday, since Unyoung couldn't come on Saturday. We ate at Mcdonald's, went to the PC bang, then of course ended the night with pool. :) It was so much fun with Un! The next day was my birthday!! :D I can't believe I'm 17 now!! yay! And the best part was that I didn't have any school Monday or Tuesday, because of my class had acting performaces. On Monday, we really didn't do anything in the morning, but at night I called up Lea and Daphne to have a birthday dinner. Of course, we went to the mexican restaurant/bar in Heaundae. That's our favorite little restaurant now a days. Tuesday, we had off again, but we went to the tutor. She found out about my birthday so we had really good pizza. God, I love having my birthday in KOrea! It's such a big deal to them. :D Wednesday, we had to go to school again. I thought my birthday celebration was over, but during lunch all of Ana and my friends came and of course they had another cake! I feel so loved! <3 We ate cake and then Grace and Samatha gave me the cutest cards! They also made me a scarf and bought me the cutest hat!! I was so happy! Nothing really happened till that Saturday. In the afternoon, we went to the spa for the first time with Jarrett and Lea. It's one of those naked spas. It was so relaxing! You have no idea! Then, we met up with Hanna, Daphne, and Unyoung to go to the mexican restaurant again! It was great. Monday I didn't have school again. Instead, the kids went to Hanna's school festival. It was cool to see Hanna dance for the first time! She is so good. Afterwards, we had lunch at Mcdonalds. Then Daphne, Jarrett, and Hanna went home, because they were tired. The rest of us went to a DVD store. It turns out they have lounging rooms where you can watch the movie you just bought :o and it doesn't cost anything extra! I loved it! Tuesday, we went to school, but it wasn't a normal school day. It was OUR school festival! It was trully amazing!! They had kids sing, dance, and also had teachers perform too! It was so much fun! So Ana has been sick for the last couple of days and hasn't been going to school :( I hope I don't get what she has! Anyways, I figured out I only have 16 more school days left! YAY!! TTYL people!!

Wednesday November 11th

Hi y'all! Guess what today is?!?! BEA BEA DO DAY!! It's a Korean holiday where you give your friends, family, and boyfriends treats. Almost like Valientines day, but not so much about love. :) I haven't been on in a while so I'll start from the beginning. November 3rd (tuesday) was a pretty good day... School there was only a half day then the tutor. It felt so different with Hanna being gone :( Then I went home and watched TAKEN on tv. I love that movie! The last time I saw it I was at Jordan's house. Aw, good memories :D The next day I just slept. It sounds like hey brittany your lazy.. Your in Korea get up and do something! but seriously i treasure those days where I get to the house and I watch tv, eat, and sleep. Thursday was fun. We asked our teachers if we could go out for lunch instead of eating at in the cafetria. They said it was fine, so we went to the supermarket down the road. We bought chips that tasted just like lays, raymen, and cookies :) GREAT LUNCH! hahaha. but most of it ended up on my shirt! Hanna and Daphne asked how I get my clothes dirty and I said, "I eat!" hahahaha! anyways, after school ana and I went to the little corner store by our house. We decided just to buy gum, but the clerk guy was so nice. We spoke to korean to him. He was so impressed he gave us baked potatoes shaped as tiny little deformed men!! :D hahaha! amazing... Friday we really didn't do anything. Saturday, we had school :( I came home and fell asleep. Then Ana woke me up saying we were going to Gwangali Beach with the Jarrett and Lea. I was like Hell yes!! It seems like thats the kids we hang with at the beach. We got coffee again and hung out at the beach again. Then we took Lea to her house. We got really excited, because Hanna was coming that night! Sunday, I decided to sign up for some online classes :D now i can study in school and actually be ahead of the kids when i get back in America! Jordan you may want to think about doing it too! It would really help! That day we went to hang with Hanna. It was great seeing her again! We walked around. It was fun! Ana and I bought a puzzle to work on to be our little project to complete before we switched families. I thought it was a great idea! In the book store, we met a guy from New York. He used to be a Korean exchange student and was now in the University there. It was great speaking with him! We talked for liek a half an hour about Korea and America. It was refreshing talking to an American who wasn't one of the Rotary kids. Monday, we didn't really do anything. We did our puzzle. On Tuesday, we went to the tutor. The counselor called and said we were having a orientation right after! ugh! I hate those meetings! When we got there, we knew it wasn't going to be good! They pretty much bashed all of us. When they started talking to only Ana and I about our family we both started crying. They never want to hear our side of the story. It wasn't a very good day. Today, school was fun! Again, its bae bae do day so you give treats to all your friends and family. It was so much fun! After school, we went to the market to buy ama and apa treats. They appreciated it so much!! We had some beef for dinner! yummy! we talked with ama and apa for like an hour! It felt so good! Tomorro, NO SCHOOL!! :D cant wait!! TTYL!!

Monday November 2nd

Hi there! This last weekend was the probably the best!! :D So Saturday, I had school. That probably was the only thing that sucked. Then ama and apa took ana and I to the country side. It was the most gorgeous scenery I've ever seen! You should have been there!! Apa's friend lives in the valley between two mountains. It's also fall over here so the mountains are gorgeous, because the trees are all different colors. Ana and I tried to climb the mountain, but that really didn't work out too well. Apa tried to stop us and the mountain was at a very steep incline. It was fun trying though :) That night, apa made beef on the grill (Yummy!!) We bonded over food and talked with their close friends. It was so relaxing and a sigh of relief to be away from the big city. I always loved the country more than the city. After dinner, we went fishing. It was kind of interesting to watch, because they don't use a rod. It's kind of like a trap for the fishes. Ana tried to fish, but the water was way too cold for her.

The next morning we left about noon. I felt so bad, because I really didn't want to leave that house!! It reminded me of our Wisconsin house. After an hour drive, we arrived at the Ulnuma Buddist temple. It was also surronded by mountains and changing leaf colors. :D amazing!! I took some really good pics. Then we drove another two hours back into Busan. I was starving! We went to LOITERA!! (of course!) Then I called up Jarrett, Unyoung, and Lea to hang out. We decided to go to Gwanglia Beach. :) It was a little cold, but the best feeling is to sip coffee while sitting on the beach. It was so relaxing just to sit and chat with my friends not worrying about anything.


Today, was a pretty normal day. I got to skype my real parents for the first time. It was really nice to hear their voices again. :) After school, I was supposed to go to the doctor, but my throat felt a whole lot better than over the weekend. So I decided not to go. So my school is giving out swine flu vaccasins. So I get to get a shot!! yay (sarcasticly) Ana is out with her "mexican" friend and I'm here bonding with ama. :) so tomorrow all i know is tutor.. maybe something else will happen. i'll write next time. TTYL.

Friday October 30th

Hey everyone!! It's the day before Halloween!! It kind of sucks though, because Korea really doesn't do anything for Halloween. :( Anyways, let's start the blog off with Tuesday. So I went to the tutor as usual. And learned a lot that day suprisingly. :) Then, we headed home. Ama was the only one in the house, because apa had meetings all night. Jae called our house from Japan (host brother) It was so nice to talk to him again. I miss him a whole lot! T.T Then ama tried helping ana and I study Korean. It was kind of funny, cause I accidentally said f*** you to her in korean when I was trying to say i'm 16. :D She just laughed. Then Ama called Ana and I fat because we wanted to eat at 11 at night, but we didn't eat dinner. You should have seen Ana's face lol. She wasn't hungry after that. To top it all off, Ama then asked Ana if she made love to one of her friends. Awkward!! but hilarious! Wednesday, we went to school as normal. I didn't have class all day, though, because I forgot my clothes for acting class. I just stayed with our english teacher Alex (He's from El Paso, Texas). After school, Ana and I went to Nampodong. We ate at McD's then went shopping. I found a Wisconsin College sweatshirt. Of course i bought it! Then we got bored so we went home! Thursday, was a lot of fun! I had my regular classes, but after school we went to Nampodong again! :D We ate at pizza hut! They're pizza is a little bit different than ours. Then, we saw the movie Inglorious Bastards. (movies that come out in America take time to come to Korea) It was so good! I recommend it to everyone.... well every adult! It has a lot of violence. Then we had to literally run home cause ana and I were late for curfew. We didn't think the movie would take that long, but ama and apa understood. Today, we're going to the Korean lesson, but instead of studying we're going to get ice cream and meet little kids who are studying english :) I can't wait! Today, also Hanna is leaving for the USA. She is going to be there for about a week. She found out that Monday her boyfriend's brother commited suicide. She thinks of him like a brother too. She feels like she needs to be with her close friends and family right now. I agree with her. I hate my counselor and the Rotary here. I was talking to Hanna and she said she just called the counselor about leaving. She said the counselor freaked out and said she was a bad exchange student for leaving. Hanna said to her, "Someone died!" I am chewing the counselor out about the rules and how they treat us at the next Rotary meeting coming up next week. They need to hear my opinons!! Anyways, Hanna will be back (hopefully!) next saturday. please pray for Hanna and anyone who has to deal with Brady's death. Love you all!! TTYL.

Monday October 26th

Hey American people!! :) This weekend was great for me! I'll start it with Wednesday night. So I called Hanna up to see where we were meeting and what time. Thank god too. I wouldn't had any clue what I was doing. It turns out, though, that they thought I wasn't going because I live too far away. I was like, it's a wednesday night with me not doing anything. Of course, I can manage an hour long subway ride. I don't mind. :) So when I get there I saw that Jarrett was there also (of course!) It's like the counselor is in love with him! Over the weekend she paid for him to go to Seoul for an ENGLISH convention! I was like for what!! LOL, but he's nice. The family we met seemed really nice. The boy got sick, though, so we couldn't really talk to him much :( but the 12 year old girl was hilarious! She was sarcastic and weird! Hanna said she really didn't like her, but I did! Jarrett said that she reminded him of a little Brittany (hahaha!) It was a great night with great food! Thursday, I don't know what to tell you. Um, I think the Rotary club here is stupid. They have the common rules that everyone in the world follows, but they make up some of there own. Like no cellphone! :o Ana said in Mexico it's mandatory for the kids to have cellphones! I'm just frustrated and confused on why it's a rule and everytime we ask they're like your bad exchange students just for wondering!! WHAT?!?! And I can go only on the computer for twice a week only for an hour! My hours almost up now :/ If they were like Brazil and Usa's rules I would love it even more here!! Anyways, on to Friday. It was a good day. Daphne came to my school that day. She wanted to see how my school runs differently from her school. People noticed her right away, because of her red hair :D It was relaxing that day not having to worry about my classes with her around. After school, we went to tutor like always. It was kind of quiet since Jarrett wasn't there. It was easier to learn Korean. Saturday, was amazing once again. :) We got up early for a Saturday and saw a movie with a couple of our friends from school. It only costs $4 for movies in the morning :D Then we shopped for like 4 hours!! I was so exhausted! but I bought a couple cute things. Afterwards, we went to the supermarket to buy some food for the night. We bought $130 worth of food!! Only for that night!! :o And do you know what?? We ate most of it!! hahaha. I had such a great time that night!! We didn't go to bed till like 1:00 am!! Sunday, I didn't wake up till 2:30 pm! It felt so good to sleep in! Hanna came with us that day to go shopping (again!) But after shopping, we went to a hip hop dance performance!! It was so cool! I wish I could dance like that!! :) It was even more cool cause Grace (our friend) knows everyone who danced on stage, so we got to meet a lot of them!! :D Today, wasn't really exciting school then home. Anyways, tell me how im doing <3>

Wednesday October 22nd

Hey Guys. Sorry about my last post. When I wrote that I was in the middle of fighting with my host parents, but after I wrote it we had talk. I really needed that and wanted it. Now I think were getting along just fine. I even think better than before. :D Saturday, we went to this amazing firework festival!! Our parents spent a lot of money so we could get a hotel room that night looking towards the bridge. :) It was nice so we didn't have to be in the crowd. Last year my ama said there was over a million people who saw the fireworks :o That's insane!! That night I also slept on the floor for the first time being here. I don't like it! My back was killing me the next day!! Sunday, was so much fun. First, we went to the hotel's breakfast buffet. They had french fries there!! It was so good. I really stuffed my face with food! :) lol. Then, ana and I went to the hotel's sauna/spa. It was really relaxing! The other Rotary kids said they were nervous at first for the nakedness, but Ana and I didn't care. It was so amazing. Afterwards, we went to a movie. It was called District 9. I really liked it :) It's about aliens coming to Earth and we fenced them in and tried to live with them. I freaking loved it!! Afterwards, we went to eat. Then Ana, Kathy, Lea, Jarrett, and Unyoung went to Nampodong. :D We went shopping for a little bit then played pool. It was a great day! Monday was pretty boring. School is getting me nervous, though! About five kids in my class have swine flu and three other kids have just the regular flu. One other one has anmonia (I can't spell sorry!) The school isn't doing anything about either :/ The other Rotary kid's school have been closing down for a week or two to get it squared away but my school, I guess is stuborn. After school, Ana went shopping. Apa and Ama took me to this amazing korean restaurant!! (drool) That was basically it for the day :) Tuesday was a pretty good day. I slept for the first 4 classes, because we were in our classes doing nothing because of the swine flu. Then, Ana and I went to our tutors. I finally bought this cow pillow I wanted. You put it on your arm and rest your head on it while sleeping in class. I love it!! Then after tutor most of the kids went to QUIZNOS. I don't really like it. I miss subway! They don't have any of those here. :( Today is pretty simple. School is school. Tonight I should be going to dinner with Hana, Counselor, and the Chairman to meet up with Dennis Kim's friends who are visiting here in Busan. I just don't know the time or where to go :/ OH GEEZ!! Friday Ocotober 16th

Hey everyone!! :D These past week has been crazy fun!! Last Thursday was the only day I had to go to school, because of Midterms! :D It was a pretty boring day, to be honest. It took me so long to pack for our mini field trip for the Rotary that weekend! but you should have seen Ana's suitcase!! It was huge!! It barely fit in the van!! LOL. Friday morning we had to get up a little bit earlier to get start traveling. I love car rides. :) I slept most of the day to travel to Jungju. When we got to the hotel, I was impressed. It felt really homey. Then we went out for dinner. They put live octupus in the frying pan in front of us! :o It was scquirming around! Oh gosh, I lost my appetite really fast! After dinner, we went to karokee!! :D I love Karokee here in korea! The place was really fancy, they sent us two platters full of fresh fruit and snacks. :) Afterwards, we just hung out in Ana and my room. It was really relaxing and fun to get to know the kids even more. I have to admit we went to bed kind of late, but we didn't pull an all nighter. (Thank god!) I would have been dead the next day :) The next day we did so much site seeing. We visited a lot of temples and visited a cool town. They had condom ice cream!! :) (Inside joke with Hana) It was so gorgeous! Then we went to a Korean museum. It was really interesting!! Then we went to a place called the Romeo and Juliet place. They have a pretty similar version. Then we ate at an amazing Italian restaurant! They had a lot of foreign foods also. Mashed potatoes, tortillas, pizza, pasta, etc!! It was a great day!! :) That night we traveled to a different hotel. It wasn't as good as the first night. It looked like a hotel room, but the good thing was that we had great left overs to eat! Again we hung out with the kids that night :) In the morning we traveled to a temple where they said a girl drowned a king with her rings. :o it was really interesting!! I met a ranger guy from America.. he was an intense military man!! Afterwards, we went to our chairman's grandfathers grave. I felt really privilaged to see it. He's been apart of Rotary for 30 years and this was the first time he did that. It was so beautiful where we went! After that we went to a dinasour museum!! It reminded me of the Mulwakee museum. It had robotic fighting dinasours! Outside is a little zoo. They had rabbits in them!! I was like only in Korea they have rabbits in a zoo!! lol. Afterwards, we ate at Loitera!! then drove home :D GREAT WEEKEND!! Monday was great too! Busan is known for the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF) and we got to go!! Monday was the first day! We saw an italian love story. It was really good! Just so you know they had english subtitles :) Tuesday, we went to our tutor. Jarrett invited ana, kathy, and me to hyaundi for PIFF too. Of course we went!! but the tickets got sold out!! we couldnt go with jarrett and unyoung! :( (his host brother) but it was still fun to get to know Kathy better. I like her now! i found out we have a lot in common. i was just so stubborn to start off with. We saw the movie Midnight Cowboy. Anyone ever heard of it? It's a 1969 film with the guy who plays the father in Meet the Fockers. I thought it was pretty good but also the weirdest movie I've ever saw. You'll understand if you saw it. Wednesday my school went on a field trip to PIFF/APEC/Hyandui Beach. It was so relaxing and fun!! I took a bunch of beautiful pics!! We found a mexican restaurant that day! Ana was so happy! lol. Then we saw a Romanian movie. WORST movie ever!! I wanted to fall asleep throughout the whole entire movie!! :D Fun time. Thursday, ana, grace (friend from school), and I went to Nampodong!! She told us to go on this 3D rollocoaster ride. It was so cool!! It kind of hurt me though. LOL. Then, of course, we ate at McDonalds :) We went eye shopping too. It's so hard to just look at the clothes!! I want to buy! Then we saw a really great film!! It's called Mother. It's a korean film. It was so intense! Too bad they wouldn't let grace in the movie cause she was too young :( they never asked ana and me's age though. Today, was pretty normal. We went to tutor, but instead of class we went out to a korean restaurant and then Baskin Robins :D yummy! Then we went home! Ok tomorrow is a firework celebration. I promised Unyoung like a week ago that I would go with him and Jarrett cause they were going alone. Ama told me last night that they were going and I mentioned about Unyoung. They got so pist. I was like WTF. I just mentioned it and you told me two days before!! I already had plans. Then Unyoung called and said that his mom could go then. I told ama and apa thinking that they would be happy now but they were just like why did you lie? I was like WTF why would i lie!! I want to go! I don't care if its with you or friends, just be happy I'm going. Anyways, can't wait till tomorrow I'll take awesome pics I promise!! :) TTYL.

Wednesday October 7th

Hey everyone sorry i havent been on... i've been super busy. I will just talk about the major things that happened over the past couple of weeks :) Saturday we had another orientation with our rotary. BORING!! Every single meeting all they do is go over the rules again and again and again!! They want us perfect angels. Sunday, I hanged out with Jarrett, Hana, Ana, and Unyoung. That was so fun! We saw the Ugly Truth. I love that movie, so hilarious! Afterwards, we went to karokee! My host parents took us out on Tuesday night. We went to a great steak place then shopped in Nampodong. Then we went to the Jalgachi market!! Love it, but it smelled so bad!! lol. I hate the smell of fish :( The one thing I wish Korea had was homecomings! They don't have anything like dances here. I miss getting dressed in gorgeous dresses and high heels :O! Wednesday, Ana and I went with our English teacher to an opera type show! It was really interesting. The stage was really small, but thats what made it work. It was fun to get to know Alex. Friday we had no school. The weekend was their Thanksgiving holiday. Friday our family took us to our grandparents house. They are so cute! I practically met all of my dad's family side. They were cooking all day! The food smelled so good!! :0 Saturday was amazing! Ana and I wore our gorgeous hanboks! They have this ceremony where they bow to their ancestors and lay out food for them. I loved seeing this. Then we ate a LOT of korean food. Afterwards, we of course went to karokee. I loved seeing my family goof off for once and not be so uptight. Sunday was also fun. I hung out with Jarrett, Hana, Ana, Unyoung, and his friends. We went to see GAMER. AMAZING movie!! I definetly recommend it. Then we went shopping in Nampodong and ate there for dinner. Then, again, we went to karokee (love!). I was impressed. AFter, we went to play pool. Unyoung is very good. I love hanging with them. I am very relaxed around them! Monday-Wednesday Ana and me had no school. They were taking exams at the school. We watched americans movies all day and did mani pedis :) Tuesday we just went to the korean tutor and ate with the kids afterwards. Today was a lazy day. We watched tv. THey put a lock on the computer, so that's all we did. :( When our dad got home we got our haircuts. We look cute! Tomorrow, we go to school. Friday we have no school, because we're going on a field trip with the rotary kids :) I will blog about my experience. I will also put pics up. TTYL.

Wednesday September 23rd

Hey everyone! Saturday, ana and me went to Nampodong! (of course!) We love going there!! :) She got her lip ring! I thought it looked really cute! Afterwards, we had dinner at our favorite fast food place. LOITTERA!! It's so much better than McDonald's. Then we went back to Hyuandi Beach. It was gorgeous out. I could have stayed there all night ;) Then, I spent some quality time with my family. Sunday was the best day of the week! In the morning, Ana and me headed over to the church. They were having a celebration. They told us to bring some of our friends. It was so much fun to watch :) (The video is up top of only one of the performances. Then we relaxed at home for a little bit. Afterwards, was the best part of the day. We were going to hang out with our Rotary friends. (Jarret, Lea, Ayaka, Daphne, and Kathy. Hannah couldn't make it) Jarrett put pressure on me to be the navigator. OH BOY!! But luckly i found the steak place alright. We thought it was going to be really cheap. The food was great and the atomsphere was really comfortable to hang out in. When the bill came, my eyes almost popped out of my head!! It was for 184,000!!! So being the leader for that night. I went to talk to the manager. Turns out they charged us for nine people instead of 7!! They were trying to rip off the foreigners!! Turns out, they're scared of angry americans! lol. Then we headed over to the karokee place. I thought it would be like a bar with a whole bunch of people, but instead it's only a room with a tv and disco lights to hang out with your friends. I liked that idea of karokee a lot more. We had a lot of fun! The person who shocked me the most was Jarret!! I'll post the video up above. Then we headed home. I was so tired by the end. Monday was such a rollocoaster day!! You see Saturday Ana moved into my house, because her family was going to Seoul for a few weeks for a wedding. So the chairman wanted me to help her move instead of going to school on Saturday. I called my teacher and he said I should come to school. I said No, I got permission from my Rotary. They said not to come. WEll turns out i offended him. So MOnday, he was mad so I was trying to tell my side but he wouldn't listen. So being offended I started getting pist! Then he said I was a bad student for breaking the rules, even though I got permission to get out of school. That made me cry. He lost all my respect! Anyways, afterwards was fine because he felt really bad. So he lent me his computer to use the internet during class :) And every Monday he lets me teach English during the last period. That was a lot of fun. After school, Ana and me had the most painful workout!! My whole body was screaming!! lol. Tuesday was a very good day! In the morning, I had english with Alex (from Texas). He showed clips on Youtube of the Simpsons. It just reminded me of the US. That was really fun. The next class is Chinese. I'm getting really into that. Lao-shi Hao!! I would say I'm pretty good at it for the teacher being Korean. Afterwards, was Filming class. That was kind of boring. I just slept. Everybody was just on the computers. I had the same class agian, so I just went on the computer. Then Ana and me headed towards the tutor. It turns out that instead of class, we were going to the beach! :o Awesome! I thought it was a sand beach, but instead it was rocks! So i was wearing the wrong shoes (sandals!) Very painful!! It was fun, though. Jarrett reminds me a lot of Alex back home. lol Only better. We all feel like family. When I got home I fell asleep right away. That beach wore me out! That night I played games on Skype with Jarrett. He always beat me, but finally we played Battleship and I whooped his butt!! Holla! Today was pretty boring. Math in the first hour and then acting all day :( Now I go to the gym. Saturday September 19th

Wednesday was a pretty boring day. I went to school. I accidently slept in Math class :( Then for acting class I was an abusive mother who slapped her baby. That was interesting. After school, I went home and slept for a few hours. Afterwards, we headed towards the gym. The next day, the school said they were taking a test kind of like the SATs. They said we weren't going to take it, so I asked if we could stay home then. The teacher said no we had to read or just sit there. So the next day, we come to school. The teacher wanted ana and me to talk to alex. (our english teacher from Texas) So we got to know him better. We talked for about an hour with him. I like him, he seems really cool. About an hour later, my teacher comes in and says ana and me can go home! :) We had no reason to be there he says. So instead of going home, we went shopping at our favorite place (Nampodong!) We were going to buy jewlery at our favorite little shop, but it was closed till 2. So we went to the new Ashton Kutcher movie. It was good, but it was the dirtiest movie I've ever seen. I guess if you're a foreigner they don't check your age for anything. After it was about 230. We headed towards the shop again, but still it was closed! So we just went home. Then to the gym again. Friday, we only went to school for about a half a day. Then we went to our laungage class. It was fun being there, I love Tuesdays and Fridays now. Afterwads, we went to get a bite to eat at this little pizza shop with only ana, Jarret, Lea, and me. It was hard picking out the pizza cause Jarret can't eat pork. (religion) But finally we got the rib pizza. It was so good. The pizza place didn't have tables to eat at so we had to run across the road and eat on benches. :) CITY LIFE! Then ana and me headed home. We had a meeting with the chairman of the Korea Rotary. He was talking about ana moving in with my family today. We really didn't want it, because we wanted to be away from each other sometimes. And have our own families. But he insisted. So today, ana and me are planning to move her in, shopping, and then to the beach again. :) Tomorrow maybe karokee bar and dinner with the inbound students :) I can't wait! I'll blog later about it. Tuesday September 15th

These last two days have been amazing :) The only problem was that Sunday night I couldn't sleep. I was, for some reason, really nervous about the korean party Monday night. So I got up early to go to the gym. It was fine, but this random lady was teaching me how to use the machine and then she pinched my fat :( I wanted to say to her that she was rude and to get away from me, but of course they don't understand me yet. School was pretty good that day too. I got out of class to talk to my teacher for an hour and a half then after lunch I talked to the English teacher for another hour. Then we saw a presentation in the gym, so hardly any classes that day. We left school early about 330. I headed over to my apartment to get myself beautiful. I didn't know it would take so long! lol. We headed towards the reception about 6pm. The traffic was horrible!! It felt like we weren't moving at all!! We were kind of late because of it. I thought it was going to be kind of boring. There were lots of speeches at first, but after the speeches were over and we got to eat, it was fun. All the rotary people sat together and chatted. I met an old friend who was an inbound student in America last year. It was good to see her again. We're planning on running sometime together by the Hyundai Beach :) It was a great night. After we were all done eating, we headed upstairs. There was a garden in the building! I didn't notice till it started raining that we were on the roof. It just looked like the ceiling. :o But many said I looked beautiful that night. By the time I got back home, I was exhausted. I didn't even remember going to bed. The next day, it was pretty normal school day. We had film class. I was in the movie. (Upcoming actress!) After lunch, my ama picked ana and me at school. I had to head towards the bank to get my money out. When we got there it frustrated me! First, we went to the normal front desk, but they told us we needed to go upstairs towards the foreign transactions. Then they said we couldn't transport my money in another account for some reason. So they sent us down to the ATM's machine. It took us like 10 min. to figure out I had a different max. limit each day then Korea's. I only can take out 300 instead of 1000. So each day i have to carry around $300 in my wallet cause the people couldn't transfer my money, unless that's what my ama said. :( So now I know im going to lose track of my money. Then I'll be pissed at my ama cause she didn't understand what I was saying about my card. Anyways, afterwards the language class was a blast. Of course, we learned a lot and goofed off also. The tutor made spicy ramen and jarret told me his whole life family history in 20 min. lol. Jarret then played the harmonica and him and me squared dance! :) That was fun. We took great pics afterwards. I can't wait to see what's next for me!!

Sunday September 13th

Hey everyone! It is 9 pm on Sunday night. On Friday it was pretty simple day. I went to school for the day. I got to leave school early :) That's always good. I headed over to my korean lessons for the day. Maria and I weren't late this time. We didn't get lost! lol. We learned a lot and got to practice speaking and writing. (A lot of home work though....) Afterwards, I was too tired to go to the gym. I went to bed at 8 pm that night. :) That Saturday we had great plans to see a movie with the rotary friends and get something to eat. Then go to Hyundai Beach. In the morning I went to the gym with Maria. Her favorite trainer was there. We have our personal favorites. Hers is a meat head. Mine is natural looking and skinner. Afterwards, we headed towards Lotte for the movie. We never really decided on where to go. We said the movie theater, but people were someplace else :(, so Maria and I went to eat. We never found them. Turns out, everyone found eachother but us. Maria and I had fun, though. We went to see My Sister's Keeper. It was really good. I cried, of course. (blush) Afterwards, it was too late to go to the beach so instead we went shopping in Nampodong. Ana got another earring. I'm planning something special in the next couple weeks :) Sunday, I was a little late to church. Then we had smoothies in there. They have a cafe in the church! Afterwards, we headed towards the beach! It was really fun, but I couldn't find my top bathing suit :( I wonder if I forgot it in America. We stayed there most of the day. Maria met creepers! They had to be at least 35. YUCK!! Anyways, I can't wait for tomorrow! We have our korean party! And like I promised I will take lots of pics! Thursday September 10th

Hello everyone! Let's start this off. Wednesday i thought was going to be pretty boring, but I had acting class again. I was a husband yelling at my wife in English. And at the end, of course, they had me scream, "Shut up!" That's their favortie English phrase :) On one of the class breaks about six of my friends did this dance to a huge song here in Korea. I wish I got a video of it, but I didn't have my camera with me. I'll try to later. After school, I was exhausted. I wanted to sleep! I'm kind of getting frustrated with Tae Kwon Do. We have it every single day! I mean I'm trying to like it and appreciate it, but it's making me cranky all the time and sleepy. :( I would rather take something like Korean cooking class or piano lessons would be cool. The say its a rule, but I'm going to talk to my counselor. I don't want to hate my stay here, because I have to Tae Kwon Do. Anyways, my mother woke me up and asked if Anna and me would like to go out to eat. Of course I said yes. First, we went to Loiters. It's a lot better version of Mcdonalds. Then we drove a ways to Wondongso. (probably spelled that wrong!) There's a gorgeous beach and beautiful bridge there. Then they decided we could have spagheti!! I missed it so much! They also bought us really good home-made ice cream. Anna and I were really grateful! Oh i forgot! On the ride over, I had my fingers out the window. Then my father closed the windows on my fingers!! I kept yelling, "WINDOWS DOWN!" I yelled that five times. Finally, my father put the window down. lol. Now under the skin there's a huge bump that hurts. I'm kind of worried about it. So word of advice....Don't get your fingers stuck in a korean car window! Anyways, today was uneventful. I arrived to school a little bit late. It was the bus, I swear! :) My teacher gave me a couple books to read. I'm on my fourth book for the past three weeks! I need more! I got a piggy back ride in Tumbling Class today. That was fun! Now I'm going to the gym in about an hour! :) Got to lose those kilograms! Tomorrow laungage class and Sat. planning on hanging with friends. Should be a good weekend. :) TTYL everyone. Tuesday September 8th

Not a lot has happened these past five days, but I'll try to be descriptive. Friday was a pretty good day. I couldn't get up for the gym in the morning. I was way too exhausted! From then on, I decided that I would go to the gym in the morning only every other day. It's been working so far. :) I watched my first korean film that day too. It was about a teenager falling in love with a middle-aged man who has some disease....CREEPY!! Then for musical class we watched Beauty and the Beast! Aw, I was soo excited! I was shocked no one heard of the movie or the musical before. I thought almost all the countries knew about the Disney movies, but everyone loved it. After school, I didn't have to go to Tae Kwon Do (more sleep!), but Saturday I still had school. The first two classes I had were Gym class. :( I thought I was done with that!! Then I found out that they were doing testing that day too! Even worse!! Then had two boring classes of Korean reading then I went home. Later that day I went to my favorite steak place in Busan. We were celebrating "my aunts" birthday. I met almost all of my mother's side. She has two older brothers and one younger sister. I met my "cousins." The girl is about 11 years old. The food was great! After I went to the beach with my aunt and my cousins. It was beautiful outside. I love that beach! The next day, I thought I was going to church, but instead Maria's new family invited me to go up Gudeok Mountain and of course I went! I took some amazing pictures!! It was really hard to climb at times, but totally worth it. At the top of the mountain was this Buddist temple! It was trully an amazing sight to see!! If my family visits that's one place I will take them. I took pics, I put all of them on Facebook. Afterwards, I went to see a movie. It wasn't korean or english. It was Indian. :o It's called Black. It's based on the Helen Keller story. It was weird though, because they would talk Indian then switch over to English. I could understand it, though. I was so moved by it! My ama cried. I could tell it reminded of how much she misses Jae. After the movie, Maria and I went to Nampo-dong on the Main Street. I bought sunglasses. Maria bought shorts and got her ear pierced again. It was cool, because they had break dancers dancing in the middle of the street. Again, I took pics. Monday was a pretty relaxing day. Lots of lectures at school, but the last class my homeroom teacher let me teach the class English. Now every Monday I get to have that time to try and teach them. Wish me luck! Today I only had to school up until lunch. :) I had laungage class at 3 so my school allowed me to leave early. Our counselor didn't give very good directions. We were about an hour late, but we weren't the only ones. Everyone was late. Kathy came in crying. I felt bad, but I guess I didn't understand. When maria and I were late we were just laughing about it cause it was the first day. Anyways, when we arrived we got our 한 보! (korean dresses!) This upcoming Monday we get to wear them at our welcoming party!! We get to miss school. I promise I'll take lots of pictures. The dresses are so gorgeous!! I can't wait! I'm excited, because it was only the first lesson and I already have learned a lot. :) I will post a new blog soon! Good night or Good morning.

Thursday September 3rd

The last time i posted was saturday night. Sunday morning I headed out to church about 9 am. Maria and I met right at the church. This time church was only the children service then some kind of test. I didn't know what was going on. My friend (bass player in band) couldn't really explain what was going on either. (I won't even try to spell his name!!) Afterwards we went to the cyber place for about an hour then headed back home. Then I did something I thought I never would do. I went shopping with Maria and Ama for ballet stuff. We bought the shoes and pants for my class. There was so many options to choose from!! I didn't even know where to begin! On Monday school was pretty tiring and boring. There was just lectures all day, but afterwards we went to the gym to register. We were too late, though. DARN! Tuesday was ballet day! :( But it wasn't nearly as bad as last weeks! I just didn't take myself seriously and laughed. That got people to like me. That night we finally registered for the gym! It's only $33 per month. I thought that was pretty good. We also met our trainer. We get him for free just for registering! Boo ya! Wednesday was the best day of the week!! First, we had math. I couldn't help but almost fall asleep! It's so hard to stay awake in Math in Minnesota and now I'm listening to a Korean teacher speak about algerbra! Then for six classes i had acting! The first class I slept through. The teacher wasn't even there. The second class was the best. We did a game as an exercise. The loser who was left standing had to dance in front of the class. I had to dance four times! Just ask my sister how badly I suck at dancing! But they are all really nice! Then we did an acting scene. Since I can't speak much of Korean, i was the bus driver and a classmate. I got to swear in English and talk college English level to a bunch of Beginners. :) The day was great. Then Maria and I went to the gym! I really like our trainer. I swear he wants us ripped. He wants us to do 2 hrs worth of stuff to do then also do ab workout class :) we asked about dance class but he said no. That night was the first night I got frustrated with my new family. Maria and I wanted to go to the gym in the morning about 6 am. We thought it would really wake us up and energize us, but my parents had to call the chairman just to see if its ok. I'm their daughter! so they said no. then i ask about the next day's afternoon and going to tae kwon do then the gym. They wanted me to come all the way back home and eat dinner and then walk all the way back to the gym. :o Then the chairman called saying it was alright then my ama doesn't tell me until 5 min i was suppossed to be their that morning! She thought i was already to go in my pjs! So we worked out for about a half an hour this morning! It felt amazing! Then we headed towards school. As the day was going on i got sooooo sore! (especially in my back) Then we had physical training class. It was fun. I got paired up with the cutest guy in the class, but he had to crack my back. (Huge no, no on my end!) Then he had to mesage my neck!! (EVEN BIGGER NO NO!! ) But that class was fun. The rest of the day seemed endless. A lot of lectures here and there. Then afterschool we headed towards tae kwon do for the first time! The little kids were so cute!! The trainer reminded me sort of my sister's ex Andrew. (kinda look like him too) It was fun but it really whoops your butt the first time! I got my outfit and my white belt. I'll take pics! Then we got a bite to eat at this amazing little pizza joint down main street. Then off to the gym! A lot of ab stuff tonight. I'm still not used to people just being so comfortable being naked! I mean I do it too, but there just for the world to see! Even the boys change in the classroom (Awkward, at first!) So Maria and I are making a schedule on the gym in the morning, tae kwon do, then gym at night. Wish us luck!!

Saturday August 29th

Hey people! Sorry i haven't been on since last Friday, but I'll inform you on what happened. Last Saturday, my mother and I went shoppping!! The mall had a lot of designer shops, but they had pretty cheap stuff. They had burger king!! That night I met my other brother who is in Medical School. I found out we have a lot in common. :) The next day was my church. My family is Christian. My church is pretty similar to the one in White Bear, Minnesota. The people are all really nice and I made a lot of friends. We planned on going to my first Korean movie with a couple girls from there on Friday. After church my brother Jae and I went to my first Korean baseball game!! Its so much more fun than American baseball. They have chants for every player. I'll put pics on later when I get back to my house. Monday was my first day of school!! I was really nervous about getting lost, but Jae gave good directions. The kids are really open to new foreigners!! Maria and I had to give a short speech in front of the entire school, so everyone knew we were there. The lunch was quite good, but nothing close to my mom's korean cooking. Maria just eats an apple each day :( They also brush their teeth after lunch too. I thought that was a bit strange. I was kinda glad to get different classes than Maria. We both got really close friends without out shining the other person. It was a very good day. Then after school we had to go to my counselor's house to meet the rest of the exchange students who came that Sunday. We met Kathy first before we left. At first, I thought she was just shy, but then she opened up. The whole night all she wanted to do was be all over Jae. She didn't want to talk to Maria and me. We thought was a bad first impression. We went to McDonalds before we went to the meeting. The food is so much different! They have 3 kinds of Big Macs and their chicken looks like KFC's batter. It was very good though. At the meeting, Jae did his Japanense speech. The counselor had them memorize the whole thing!! Everyone did good though. Tuesday was my bad day. It started off good with school. I was getting closer to my school friends, but then came ballet :( I didn't feel comfortable and they had me sit in the corner for the first half. Then the second half, they had me doing stuff with the other kids, but I didn't know the rountine. I just felt ashamed and embarrased. I probably would have cried if it wasn't for Maria. I didn't feel like myself that day. I stood in the corner not talking to anybody :( That night Maria and I hung out. Wednesday was a lot better day. I had English class so my classmates got to know me a lot better. Then that night Maria, Jae, and I hung out and played board games. Thursday was pretty boring at school. Almost all of them were lecutures in Korean, but thats what I signed up for. After school, though, was another story. Jae planned for me and maria to go to the Busan Tower. It's like the space neetle in Seattle. It was gorgeous!! I took pics, but they were either too dark or too shaky. Afterwards we went to a really great pizza restaurant. FABULOUS!!!! Then we went window shopping down Main Street. My favorite store: SEXY COOKIE! lol. Then I slept like a rock that night. Friday was probably my favorite school day. I just felt more like a student then some alien people kept staring at. After school, I took a major nap!! I really needed. Ever since I've been here, I've been tired 24/7. Then i went out to eat with my whole family to a great Japanese restaurant. I didn't know half of the stuff i was eating! I decided I'd rather have my last meal with my brother than go out to the movies with my church friends that night. Saturday morning we took Jae to the airport. It just reminded me of saying goodbye to my mom and sister when i left Minneapolis. I was sad. Then I had the longest orientation at my counselor's house!! They just reviewed everything we learned at the other orientations in the US. Afterwards, Maria and I went to a cyber place. On the way, we got stopped by a group of girls to judge their drawings. The girl was so talented!! Now we're at the cyber place and I decided to finally get this blog going. Any suggestions??

Friday August 21st

hey people!! it's my second day here in the big city of Busan!! life here is great so far. the only thing i'm worried about is the buses. i don't know when to get off for my school. :( i guess i'll figure it out. my family is great! the mother is really sweet, she reminds me of my mother. the father i was intimidated at first, but he has a great sense of humor. the brother is helping me out with korean a lot. too bad he's leaving in a couple of weeks. just the first day i've learned about six new words/phrases and i've lost 3 pounds!! the food is really healthy and there's huge hills in here! the first night i got to the airport they ran over to me to introduce them. the brother bought me roses and a map of busan! i felt surprised! then i saw their car!! korean cars are so pretty and they have a tv/phone/radio player!! then we went to the house and i read a sign on their door that said Dear Brittany, Welcome to our home! We love Brittany! it was really cute! Then they bought me the cutest cake! it was really small and pink. i was overwhelmed in a good way. The next day i went with my brother to go meet up with other rotary students. there was hannah, from mn. stephanie from canda (huge accent!) and i cant spell the other girls name from japan! we all picked out our own 한 볼 (korean dresses) o and i also meet maria from mexico. she will be the only one going to my school. then we went to get fitted for our uniforms which is a polo shirt and dark blue skirts. i think there cute! then we vistied my school. its on top of a huge hill which i have to walk up every day before classes!! the school is huge and modern. i will take pics! then me, maria, and my brother left for the beach. i took pics! and then my family went to an amazing steak restaruant!! yay, my favorite! they have a grill right in the middle of the table! i felt sorry for maria. she doesn't like korean food!! then we went home! i couldn't believe that was just the first full day in korea! :o i will right soon about my first days of school. :)

One more month....

Hey everybody!
It's one month before i'm leaving for south korea!!! woop woop! Tomorow is my going away party. I'm hosting it with my friend who's also going to Germany this year. I'm really nervous about school. i will be a junior in high school. :) i'm going to miss all my friends and family, but i know my korean trip will definetly be worth it! i have been taking tutor sessions for almost four months now. i know basic laungage and i know how to read. :) i'm just really nervous on not getting the laungage!! wish me luck!!
